About me
Hello to all! I am Yuliana Kolesnikova, a student of the esteemed Kharkiv Lyceum No. 8. I had a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the “Upshift” project, where I joined the 26th tram team. Together, we developed the game “Jobby,” which received the support of state authorities. The game’s aim is to teach teenagers how to find work and stay safe in different situations.
Recently, despite being in different countries, our team came together to create a new game called “33 Misfortunes,” designed especially for children. This game aims to teach them to act responsibly in dangerous situations.
Back in Kharkiv, I studied at the first music school at the “Madrigal” theater, and it was quite an experience. Although I have moved, my heart remains closely connected to the city. During the difficult times of the war, I felt the need to help my hometown. After settling in Sumy, I became an active member of the NGO “Mercy of Sumy Region,” where I actively support Kharkiv.
Cinematography is another passion of mine, and I had the honor of making a documentary film about Kharkiv. To my delight, the film received several awards at international festivals. Moreover, I organized a screening of the film at the Druzhba cinema to raise funds for the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From the beginning of 2022 until February 23, I participated in the “Generation F” project, where I became a finalist. My involvement centered around organizing “Different but Equal” events, emphasizing gender equality.
I am truly passionate about learning and maintaining an active lifestyle. Thanks to my dedication, I have been able to participate and achieve success in various competitions and festivals. My poems have been published in an Almanac, which was a dream come true for me.
On March 27, 2023, I had the honor of being present at the “UNICEF: Youth for Ukraine – Recovery Plan” event in Kyiv. During the event, I had the privilege of meeting outstanding personalities such as First Lady Olena Zelenska, Orlando Bloom, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine Emin Japarova, and adviser to the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, Iijima Yasumasa.
Our team’s project “33 Misfortunes” received the prestigious award “Manageability in Emergency Situations.” It was a moment of great pride for us when the First Lady shared a photo of our team on her official page.
During the event, Olena Zelenska delivered a meaningful message: “The generation of your great-grandparents was called children of war because they were small during another terrible war, the Second World War. Well, I’ll be honest: I really don’t want you to feel like children of war. I don’t want you to feel like victims. It shouldn’t be like that. You are children of victory. And the winners themselves. The only way.”
